Clintonville Area Commission 2023 Election Update

The Clintonville Area Commission’s process for the 2023 election is underway. Election Day is August 26th

Seats are open for Districts 1, 2 and 9.

  • The following Clintonville residents have been certified as Petition Candidates and will appear
    on the ballot for their respective Districts:

    • Colman Hickey – District 1
    • Paul Lada – District 1
    • Julie Fisk – District 1
    • Gregory Nutter – District 2

There is still time for eligible residents of Districts 1, 2 and 9 to qualify as Write-In Candidates!

Write-In Candidate Orientation Meeting – July 17, 2023

An optional orientation meeting will be held on Monday, July 17, 2023, from 6:30pm – 7:30pm at Whetstone Library, 3909 North High St., Columbus, OH 43214 for those interested in being a Write-In Candidate in the 2023 CAC Election. Election Committee Chair Melissa Doll will be available to explain the Write-In Candidate process and answer any questions you may have.

Write-In Candidate Process:

  • Obtain the number of valid signatures required by the Election Rules
    • At least 15 valid signatures are required for District 9, since no one submitted a valid petition to be a Petition Candidate in that District
    • At least 25 valid signatures are required for District 1 and District 2, since there are certified Petition Candidates in those Districts
  • Submit required documentation to the Front Desk of Whetstone Library by Friday, August 4 , 2023, at 5pm

Candidate Petition Packets (which include the Write-In Candidate documentation) are available for pick up at the Front Desk of Whetstone Library, 3909 North High St., Columbus, OH 43214.

3. CC3332.13, R-3 Area District Requirements, to reduce lot area
from 5,000 SF to 3,049 SF (0.070 ac) to permit a detached garage
as a principal building on an existing parcel.
4. CC3332.19, Fronting, to permit the construction of a detached garage
on an existing parcel without street frontage.
5. CC3332.26, Minimum Side Yard Permitted, to reduce the minimum
side yard at the southeast corner of the proposed garage from 3’ to 1’ –
5”, due to the irregular shape of the parcel.

Those interested in running for the Clintonville Area Commissioner seats in Districts 1, 2, and 9 that are up for election in 2023 are encouraged to attend an Orientation Meeting for Candidates at the Whetstone Library, 3909 North High Street, Columbus, OH 43214, this Tuesday, May 23, 2023, from 6:30 – 7:30 p.m.  Election Committee Chair Melissa Doll will be available to provide an overview of the 2023 Election process and answer any questions you may have. The Orientation Meeting for Candidates is optional but strongly encouraged.

Districts on the ballot this year for CAC are numbers 1, 2, and 9. If you are interested in running for a seat, please visit download the Candidate Petition Packet.

Printed copies are also available for pick up at the Whetstone Library beginning May 24th. Candidates will have until June 19th to collect the required number of signatures. Election Day is August 26th.
