Resolution of Support for Clintonville Traffic Signal Box Art

 

Whereas, Clintonville’s High Street corridor, extending from Glen Echo Ravine on the south, up to Chase Road, just south of Worthington on its north boundary,

 

Whereas, the CAC Planning and Development Committee reviews community focused development and planning issues, including civic and social development arising from the community and/or its various civic organizations, and explores what Federal, State, and local funds may be available to implement plans in the Clintonville area,

 

Whereas, the committee provides arenas for interested parties and the general population to participate and discuss all such issues affecting Clintonville, and works proactively with other community based organizations to forward the development and promotion of Clintonville in a manner consistent with the commission’s mission statement and neighborhood plan,

 

Whereas, the committee is exercising this work through its efforts to place traffic signal box artwork at up to 10 Clintonville High Street intersections stretching throughout the north-south High Street corridor, and the committee has partnered with Clintonville Incorporated, a Clintonville 501c3 charitable organization to foster support and funding of these artworks,

 

Whereas the committee solicited from the public, and obtained dozens of art submissions from local residents, and held a public vote for selection of the 10 winning designs,

 

On this date, January 2nd, 2020, we the Clintonville Area Commission expresses its support of this initiative and will assist in its successful implementation.

 

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE CLINTONVILLE AREA COMMISSION:
1. The Clintonville Area Commission demonstrates its support for the Clintonville community initiative for traffic signal box art along the High Street Corridor between Chase Road and Glen Echo Ravine.

 

The resolution was adopted by the Clintonville Area Commission on January 2nd, 2020.
