There are occasionally issues that are beyond the scope of the CAC but have a direct bearing on the quality of life of Clintonville residents. In these cases, CAC Commissioners may sit as Clintonville representatives on special boards created by the City or work in some other way to make sure that Clintonville residents are kept abreast of new information and are having their interests fully and ably represented.
In the event that a process does not include the CAC, Commissioners will remain active and act as interested citizens. Relevant information regarding these issues will be shared with the public at monthly CAC meetings.

This plan has been prepared at the request of the Clintonville community, many of whose residents and business owners had expressed concern about the corridor's existing conditions and future prospects. Property owners on and around Indianola Avenue wanted a "blueprint" for the area that would provide direction and stimulate interest in the corridor. Columbus City Council adopted the plan on December 15, 2003.
Key goals for this plan are to:
- Develop land-use recommendations.
- Define supportable markets for the corridor.
- Identify future development/redevelopment opportunities.
- Provide guidelines for streetscape improvements.
On November 20, 2003, Columbus Development Commission recommended approval of the plan and Columbus City Council adopted it on December 15, 2003. |

The Columbus City Council adopted Urban Commercial Overlay (UCO) legislation in 1999 to protect, re-establish and retain the unique aesthetic and architectural characteristics of urban commercial corridors. Since that time, the UCO has been applied to more than 20 corridors and intersections. In 2002, two new planning overlays were developed – the ‘Morse Road Planning Overlay’ and ‘High Street North of Morse Road Planning Overlay’. These overlays, unique to Morse Road and a portion of North High Street, are distinct from the UCO and contain alternative standards and requirements. |
